Speech on the Opening Ceremony of the 11^th Aviation Expo/China

Golden autumn is the best season of Beijing. In this glorious festival season, the 11^th Aviation Expo/China ceremoniously opens today.

Here, on the behalf of China Aviation Industry Corporation II, one of the organizers of the air show, I extend my warmest welcome to leaders from relative ministries of the State Council, general departments of the Central Military Committee, each military forces, colleagues from peer foreign companies companies coming to attend the Expo, as well as all the friends attending this ceremony.

 At the airshow, AVIC II will focus on exhibiting a full scaled model of L-15, which is an advanced training aircraft of the world latest generation under development and to make its first flight end of the year; a model of 6-ton helicopter of the latest generation developed and manufactured through international cooperation, and a model of ERJ145, the 50-seater turbofan regional aircraft regarded as a successful example of cooperation between China and Brazil, even between China and Latin America. ERJ145 manufactured by Harbin Embraer, a joint venture established by Harbin Aviation Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. And Embraer, is now flying with China Southern Airline with a number of 6, with another 10 ordered by China Eastern.

K-8 trainer, created the largest export volume among all Chinese aircraft, after modification and retrofit, will present on the airshow with a brand-new look. Last year, AVIC II extended export contracts with Egypt and Pakistan for other 40 and 27 units of K8 trainer respectively. Quite a number of export orders of K-8 were also signed with other countries in the past two years.

In addition, other newly developed models, such as Y-8F600 medium transport aircraft, Y-12F transport aircraft and Y5B general aviation aircraft, as well as N-5B agricultural aircraft in the FAA airworthiness certificate application process, besides, helicopters, such as Z-9 series, Z-11 series, Z-8 series and HC-120, will all be waiting for their new customers.

 AVIC II could make such a big progress only in such a few years, on one hand, due to the continuing development of Chinese economy leading to strengthened reservation of aero-technologies and a great amount of modification and retrofit on existing models with advanced appropriate technologies; on the other hand, due to our efforts on implementing the international cooperation principle, i.e. “driven by market demands, target customer requirements, to develop aero-products catering for both domestic and overseas markets through co-investment, risk-sharing, market sharing, co-development, co-production and co-marketing”, to actively carry out extensive cooperation and communication with companies in aviation industry developed countries. Recently, we have signed separately a framework agreement on strategic cooperation with Turbomeca, a contract with Boeing on subcontracting B787 wing fairing, with Airbus, an agreement on the establishment of JV engineering centre in Beijing and a contract for subcontracting A320 empennage components. Meanwhile, we are actively participating in the subcontract production for the A350 risk-sharing products.

 During the airshow, AVIC II will hold one news conference on L-15 advanced trainer and another one in the People’s Congress Hall on the establishment of the joint venture company “Jiangxi Changhe Agusta Helicopter Co., Ltd.” with Agusta. We welcome friends from the media as well as friends and peers presenting this ceremony to attend these press conferences.

 Our original intention of attending the airshow is to display our products, while, it is more important, as we hoped, to speed up our pace in exploring domestic and overseas markets for our aviation products, and win for our products the attention, support and trust from customers.

 Looking forward into the future, we are full of confidence in the international cooperation henceforth, that the cooperation between us and world advanced aviation manufacturers will surely turn info a brand-new chapter and more cooperation opportunities will emerge in front of us. To participate in competition, to develop cooperation and to give impetus to the progress of international cooperation has always been our target for making efforts.

Good morning!

As a host of the 11th Beijing Aviation Expo, It is my great pleasure to extend warm welcomes to all distinguished guests on behalf of China Aviation Supplies Group Corporation.

The 11th Beijing Aviation Expo is a great event in the international aviation industry in 2005, and has caught extensive attentions from different parts of the world. With its grand opening ceremony here today, I believe the Aviation Expo will certainly help promote the further development of the aviation industry in China and even the development of the industry across the world.

China Aviation Supplies Group Corporation is one of the six group companies within the civil aviation industry, among which three are service providers for airlines. China Aviation Supplies Group Corporation was founded in October 2002, and is a specialized comprehensive service-provider for aviation supplies. We have set up many branches across China and some overseas representative offices in related countries. We have also established extensive business relationships and close cooperative relationships with many companies in different countries and regions.
